Check out what others have said about working with me!

Most of my work experience didn’t leave me with evaluations.

However, I have gathered a couple below that I would like to share with you.

Nova Chemicals, Joffre Manufacturing Facility

One of the largest ethylene and polyethylene production complexes in the world.

Technical Expertise

Jade always had a journeyman working directly with him when he was out in the unit. He was often asked ”How would you solve this situation”? His answers were very detailed and demonstrated Technical Expertise which surprised me with his young age and little plant experience.

Safety

Jade was given all the safety PPE required at the beginning of his term and never hesitated to wear it. He realized that safety was a part of our culture and didn’t take him long to adapt. One thing that I noticed about him was that he always acted as a spotter to vehicles backing up in the parking lot and encouraged others to do the same.

Results Orientation

Jade has expressed his initiative throughout his term and has shown he can be productive and efficient during his work. He is well-organized and always keeps himself busy.

Problem Solving and Decision Making

I gave Jade an FCM package to read through and had a discussion with him on how he would execute this project safely and productively. He took ownership of this project and showed his detail to attention. He also pulled out his school books and reviewed material that related to the devices being installed. I was very impressed by the pride and detail he showed going through this project and the problem-solving path he choose.

Effective Relationships

Jade thought it would be a good idea to see if he could get experience with other disciplines within MI so he reached out to Jason Liptak- Process Control Engineer, Shane Kay- Instrument Controls Specialist, Jordan Veenstra and Scott Stewart- Process Engineers.

He was able to job shadow each of them and gained first-hand experience on their daily duties and job scopes within MI. I received great feedback from each of them on Jade’s performance, engagement and attention to detail. He not only gained additional experience but gained Effective Relationships with others on site.

Communication

Jade was excellent at recording and capturing data. He always had a notepad and often found him writing down notes out in the field and then later reviewing them at his desk. He was then able to communicate what he did and saw that day. We asked him what analyzer he worked on that day, and he was able to provide a detailed description of precisely what he did, where the analyzer was located and the before and after values once he completed the task.

Capacity for Change

Jade quickly adapted to Nova Nature. He was responsible, passionate, and demonstrated a capacity for change. His previous jobs were very different than Nova, but he didn’t hesitate to get on board with the way we do and act at Nova.

Overall Performance

Excellent.

Overall I was very impressed with Jade’s performance during his term. A few things that stood out were:

  • He engaged in every task he was given
  • The documentation, notes and organizational skills he expressed on a daily basis
  • Not only the number of questions he asked but the quality and detail he got into were at a high level for his age and experience
  • Very vocal and communicates well

Instrumentation Team Leader, C.E.T

Jackson Environmental Seismic Services Ltd.

Established in 1991, the owners saw the need for modern, less intrusive drilling equipment for service in the geophysical exploration industry. Over the years they’ve had the pleasure to work with clients such as Cenovus Energy, Husky Energy, Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL), Apache Corporation, and others while drilling in multiple continents.

Dear Sir or Madame.

My name is Travis Short. I am currently employed at Jackson Environmental Seismic Services Ltd as Operations Manager.

I first met Jade in 2011, when he was hired as a shop hand at our Delburne facility. Jade showed impressive promise very early on in his posting and was promoted to Shop Foreman within the first 2 years of employment. Jade assumed many responsibilities such as maintenance, welding, inventory, operating various equipment, and some light trucking.

Although very much an asset in his role as shop Forman, Jade’s thirst for knowledge, experience, and challenge, lead him to apply to the field side of our operations. Again, with each new endeavour, Jade quickly adapted and excelled in that position as he worked his way through the ranks gaining understanding and expertise in the field and earning a field supervision role in 2016.

It was in this position that Jade had the opportunity to demonstrate his real potential and affirm that even though he is young and inexperienced in some areas, he has also made the most of his work years thus far and brings an extraordinary amount of knowledge and ingenuity to the table.  Jade is both conscientious and industrious in his approach to a given task. He has gained an understanding that people are an invaluable resource and that leading by example is truly the only way you can lead.

I’m certain that if given the opportunity Jade will succeed in any field, and any employer fortunate enough to acquire him will benefit from his ability to apply his knowledge of technology, his understanding of safety and risk tolerance, and his farm kid work ethic to devise creative and effective solutions to complete any assignment to which he is tasked.

I would also like to say that it has been a pleasure working with Jade and it is both my honour and privilege to recommend such a fine young man, who is on the right track, at a time when many are not.

Thank you for your time and attention.
